5. Sustain

Shitsuke or sustain. An interesting in any cases, the things that we do need to be a habit, else nothing good will come out of it. The things that we do on a daily basis is the one which is important for us to propel forward. Yesterday is a history, tomorrow is mystery and today is a gift. Let’s work to have a brighter and better future, by doing thing consistently.

What we need is to form a new habit, maintain the habit and make 5S a way of life personally, for the family and for the organization. When we want to sustain we need to ensure that a new habit is being built on top of the current habit. We can’t delete the habit, but we definitely can replace the old habit with a new one. For improvement purpose, slowly but surely once the new habit kick in we would be moving in the right direction. So, what we suggest to start reading the information given and try to get to best ideas from it.

  • Make this as a way of life for you. A daily routine that is.
  • Walk the talk, too many of us talk but no action is taken. Walk around your area, feel the area and change the area as needed. Your space you way. How do you feel about it – Do it make you happy or sad with the space you are in. If you are sad, CHANGE.
  • Accountability is important in anything that we do, sent regular update to your friends. Update your Facebook, your Instagram or Snapchat, your other social media or just do a video call and show them your new space to your friends and family. Get their feedback.
  • Shitsuke is to sustain by doing. Audit, check, inspect and do what ever it take to sustain the progress that you make.

In the end, celebrate, celebrate and continue to celebrate your small and large success in getting thing better. Share your success with others.
